The twin of this stunning blue crushed velvet maxi dress by Oscar de la Renta is held in the Goldstein Museum of Design (the last photo is their collection archive photo) and they have this dated as being from the 1960-1965 period

Note the gown is cut on the bias so the measurements are a reflection of that - it will drape into place

It has its original belt and is just amazing

The bodice is highlighted with top stitching to create that fabulous detailing that runs around the collar and down the front
