1960s Amethyst Glass Brooch Era 1950s The bottom of the blouse

The bottom of the blouse has a panel running horizontally which would have allowed it to be tucked into a skirt

We believe it dates to somewhere between the 1930s to 1960s

Hence she was seldom copied by the rag trade as her pricey originals were difficult and expensive to copy

The closure at the waist band is a press stud with two inner hooks and eyes

Made of individual ceramic cylinder beads in  a high gloss glaze finish

Dating to the 1960s, possibly late 50s, it features a large cut glass amethyst coloured stone at the centre. When it catches the light the cut glass reflects the colour and geometric spiral pattern beautifully! It is set in a striking open work gold tone metal leaf like frame. It has a pin to the back with a roll safety clasp. Note that being glass it's heavier than a normal brooch. So perhaps not one for
