I am not an expert in fur but believe it is sheared beaver - this technique almost makes it appear to be a faux fur but I did open a small teeny bit if the seam and did verify it to be a dyed fur

The dress is suspended from the shoulders and the bodice drapes down over the bust in a deep plunge
