The shoulders are strong but not yet padded as they would be in the forties and the silk velvet and excessive draping are hold-overs from the excess of the twenties

Inside it is finished primarily by hand with evidence of some machine finishes suggesting a demi couture level piece. The body of the dress is heavily finished with copper colored glass seed and tube beading. Tiny gold sequins are scattered throughout the circular design.
