While in San Francisco I was walking towards the Ferry Terminal to catch a boat to Alameda when I noticed the 101 California building in the late afternoon light

My plan was to find a good location with a view of the mountains and then see what the approach pattern was for the evening

Using a long exposure with water will smooth it but also as it moves in an area without water give it a little ghostly effect

Depending on the weather in the next couple of days this scene could be quite different come midweek

Noticing that the wind was blowing out of the south I found myself south of airport to photograph takeoffs

Lee Metcalf NWR Size:20"x30" While in San Francisco IIt was an early June morning as I made my way to Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge just south of Missoula. As the early light made its way through the light fog in the valley I found an interesting shoreline to capture the soft light as well as the reflection on the quiet ponds.
